Coming from a long line of dreamers and creatives who, for one reason or another, never saw the ideas God gave them come to life, this is so much more than a book to me. This is a stake in the ground for my family line, for my kids, and the generations that come after me. I never set out to be a children’s book author. This was an idea God gave me when my daughter was about 10 months old. I would read to her every day. She gravitated toward this one board book (the book that inspired Wonderfully Made) on her bookshelf, and I’d read from it these very sweet declarations of love and adoration over her. One day, I am reading it to her, and it hits me out of nowhere, “What if there was a board book that was aesthetically pleasing like this one, but it was full of Biblical Truth of what God says about her that I could declare over her every day?” Later that morning, I was taking a shower, and it felt as if the entire book had been downloaded into my heart. Like a typical songwriter, I jump out of the shower, grab my phone, and start recording a voice memo with what ended up being the manuscript you will read today. After years of open-and-shut doors [and a pandemic, music releases, a miscarriage, a new baby, and a cross-country move], it is one of the greatest joys of my life to finally release this book into the world and into your hands.

My biggest prayer is that this book becomes a special and sacred moment in your day to speak life and God-given identity over the little one in your life. There has been such intention and thought put into every detail of its creation, including the illustrations, color scheme, the print quality, the finish, the binding, and so much more. Something that was really important to me was creating a product you’d be proud to gift to someone you love and/or display on your own child’s bookshelf.

In addition to the book, I’ve also poured hours into creating a digital guidebook to help walk you through self-publishing your own children’s book. I really want to help people who have a manuscript see it through to completion and remove any obstacles they have in starting and completing the process. I don’t want it to take you 7 years as it did for me. You don’t need a publishing deal to create a professional finished product, and I want to give you the confidence to do that through this step-by-step eGuide.
